Join us Saturday, February 17th for a free street party on McKey Street in downtown Ocoee to celebrate the 3rd Annual Central Florida Chili Cookoff, a fundraiser to support Legacy Events for Education in its mission to inspire students, teachers and communities to leave their legacy on the world! Sample 30 chilis provided by local restaurants and chefs of all varieties. Enjoy a bite from our food trucks and dessert vendors while enjoying live entertainment, adult and family-friendly refreshments as well as our Kids Zone play area!
In 2017, the Wolverine Legacy Fund was founded to award monetary grants to support and enhance Windermere High School’s (WHS) Academics, Arts, and Athletics. After bringing over $60,000 in donations to WHS, our organization is expanding with the launch of Legacy Events for Education! Our mission is to organize large scale events in western Orange County, Florida to raise funds for scholarships and grants to students and teachers at local schools. With the increasing costs of both college tuition and school expenses not covered by the district, community support is needed more than ever!
Come out and show it off! Competitive categories will be: CASI (no filler chili), Open (Anything Goes), Restaurant, Vegetarian (no meat), Showmanship and People’s Choice. Registration to open in October 2022.
Register to be a cook below and email any questions to info@centralfloridachilicookoff.com.
What is CASI?
Each year, CASI sanctions nearly 400 domestic and international chili cookoffs as qualifying events for the CASI Terlingua International Chili Championship©, known as TICC. CASI was the original organizer of the first chili championship in Terlingua in 1967. These sanctioned events raise approximately $1,000,000 annually for the local and national charities that work with the cookoff organizers. This ultimate chili championship is held the first Saturday of November annually at Rancho CASI de los Chisos near Terlingua, Texas. The CASI Championship event is a fundraiser for local Terlingua charities and organizations and funds CASI's scholarship programs.
